In her spare time, she enjoys running (having recently completed the Toronto Marathon) and is also writing a book on infant literacy based on her experience teaching her infant twins to read by twelve months of age.

Mariana Bracic's twins have been featured on the front page of the National Post newspaper, on City TV and CBC Radio for their ability to read, which started at twelve months of age. Ms. Bracic believes strongly that all children can learn to read while they are still babies and that all children should be given that opportunity. Because babies are primed for language acquisition, learning to read is easy and fun for them (which makes it fun for their parents as well).

About Mariana Bracic

Mariana Bracic began her legal career in 1994 at a prominent Bay Street law firm advising clients on employment law issues. Six years later, she became Advisory Counsel with the Law Society of Upper Canada, the regulator of all the lawyers in the province. As Advisory Counsel, she was responsible for ensuring the highest standards for Ontario lawyers in ethics and competence.

In 2003, Ms Bracic opened MBC Legal, a boutique employment law firm and subsequently MBC Information Solutions Inc., a legal information company; an affiliation between the two organizations thrives by providing Bay Street standards of excellence with boutique levels of personal attention and business-minded efficiency.

An honours graduate in political science from the University of Toronto, Ms Bracic graduated from Queen's University Law School where she ranked first in her class in Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure and Remedies. She has been entrusted with teaching tomorrow’s lawyers, having taught both Professional Responsibility and Civil Litigation at the Bar Admission Course. She is frequently asked to be a keynote speaker for legal programs and has guest lectured at Ontario law schools.
