In her spare time, she enjoys running (having recently completed the Toronto Marathon) and is also writing a book on infant literacy based on her experience teaching her infant twins to read by twelve months of age.
Mariana Bracic's twins have been featured on the front page of the National Post newspaper, on City TV and CBC Radio for their ability to read, which started at twelve months of age. Ms. Bracic believes strongly that all children can learn to read while they are still babies and that all children should be given that opportunity. Because babies are primed for language acquisition, learning to read is easy and fun for them (which makes it fun for their parents as well).
